Friday 23rd June – injection day four: panicking about different things

I’ve been quite emotional all day, as well as hungry, forgetful, distracted and generally weirder than usual. So maybe the drugs are working? I’m not sure if any of these are the expected side effects though… Anyway, I keep forgetting things, which is not so good work-wise, as I’m a teacher and generally supposed to know things about stuff. I started feeling emotional yesterday while teaching at a nursery school with very young children – also not good. Other than that, I’m unbelievably tired and have had to pee every 5 minutes. Not good for the freelance on-the-road teacher that I am.

Panic-wise, today I accidentally looked at a form I had been given on the first day and told that I should bring with me to every check-up, and suddenly noticed that it stated in bold letters: “Please ensure that you are taking folic acid and vitamin D daily”, which I hadn’t been doing. Shit. Panic. I’ve been trying to do so well, eating lots of protein like an addicted athlete, drinking water and avoiding coffee (which is bloody difficult!) only to find out that I’m not taking the right vitamins. And I can only blame myself, because I should have read that bloody letter when I got it! Anyway, I did what I always do – asked my friend who’d done this before. And she said that the vitamin tip is only valid if you proceed to do IVF straight after. Which I’m not. OK – sigh of relief, everyone, I haven’t fucked this up. Yet. But I keep feeling like I’m somehow going to fuck it up, I’m yet to find out how…

I then did injection number 4, and as usual wasn’t sure if the liquid was there. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, maybe my eyesight is going with old age. I’ve also been feeling like I can’t hear very well. I’m quite sure that’s not a result of hormones. But I digress. So the injection seemed fine. I guess tomorrow morning I’ll find out if it’s working or not – going to have scan number 2 in the morning. Me and my eggs are very excited. And now we must rest. Good night.

As always, here is a video of me doing the injection. Enjoy!
